Endcliffe Park and St. Augustine’s Church, Brocco Bank.

The commemoration begins at the Mi Amigo memorial in Endcliffe Park at 1.15pm and moves to the church for the service at 2.00pm

Ten US airmen died when their B-17 bomber crashed in Endcliffe Park, avoiding the surrounding residential areas, on 22nd February 1944. A special service is held each year on the nearest Sunday to the anniversary date. This year, it has gained special recognition in the national media and we are told to expect a fly-past by the RAF and USAF as a tribute.
